Our Impact

Our impact spans hundreds of refugee lives annually, helping them move from survival toward self-sufficiency, community connection, healing, and hope for the future. Rather than just meeting the immediate needs, we focus on long-term transformation in ways that are culturally relevant and trauma-informed. We have created community spaces that provide therapeutic and economic benefits to refugee families in Louisville and strengthened the social fabric of Louisville by fostering cross‑cultural understanding.

Who We Are

Since our inception, we have served to create an environment where East African individuals, families and communities are equipped and empowered to live out a more spiritually fulfilled, socially connected, and economically stable life. Christ is at the center of what we do.

Our Programs

We believe when refugees and immigrants are engaged in their communities, we all thrive.

Gosheni Farm

A holistic farming and healing program that integrates trauma healing, mental health support, sustainable agriculture, food security, economic opportunity, and community belonging.

Impact

Provides trauma healing and recovery
Strengthens food production and food security
Increases growing capacity and crop protection
Supports 68 community plots
Empowers 10 senior farmers as leaders and mentors
Extends the growing season
Reduces waste and improves sustainability
Builds long-term economic opportunity through agriculture

Humura – Women & Single Mothers Program

Supports women survivors of domestic violence, trauma, and displacement through culturally sensitive counseling, trauma-informed care, and community-based support. Promotes emotional well-being, economic stability, and long-term self-sufficiency.

Creates safe spaces where women can process their experiences, build resilience, and move toward healing and restoration.

Tabara – Exploitation Prevention & Mentorship Program

Mentorship and training for East African young women and teen girls at risk of exploitation and trafficking. Provides prevention education, life skills, mentorship, and pathways to restoration and empowerment. Responds & intervenes in reported cases of exploitation.
