You are seen. You are valued. You are strong. You have a future.
Reached.
Rescued.
Restored.
Tabara is a Kinyarwanda word: a call to be reached, rescued, and restored. It names what we believe is true of every young woman who walks through our doors.
Tabara walks alongside East African young women and girls with mentorship, real skills, and the knowledge to protect themselves and choose what comes next.
We mentor and equip East African young women with the knowledge and skills to stay safe, and we open real pathways forward in education, leadership, and a life they choose.
We do this in partnership with schools, churches, and community organizations across Louisville, speaking with young women as the capable leaders they already are.
What we hold to be true
Six things we come back to in every space, every photo, and every word.
Worth
Every young woman is made on purpose, valued and capable. Royalty, not a statistic.
Strength
We build knowledge, skills, and confidence, so she stands strong and stays safe.
Together
Sisterhood and mentorship. No one walks alone, and we are held together.
Protection
Safety and dignity come first, in our spaces, our images, and our words.
Restoration
A new day is possible. We make room for healing, growth, and beauty for ashes.
A future
Real pathways forward. Education, leadership, and a life she chooses.

Back a young woman's future
A gift to 100 Hearts of Hope keeps Tabara's mentorship going, puts real skills and prevention education in young women's hands, and opens doors to school and leadership. This is where a different future begins.
