We encourage, empower, and educate. In Louisville and Rwanda.
We're built around three commitments: to encourage, to empower, and to educate. You'll see all three at work with the families and individuals we serve, both here in Louisville and in Rwanda.
Three commitments, one calling
Wherever we work, the heart of it is the same: people showing up for one another, with faith at the root. Every program does all three of these at once, just in different ways.
Encourage
We come alongside people through the hard seasons, so no one has to carry it alone.
Empower
We help people build the skills, confidence, and stability to stand on their own.
Educate
We open the door to learning, because that's what makes real change last.
Two places, one mission

Louisville, Kentucky
Our work in Louisville
We walk alongside families and individuals from East Africa as they build new lives here. The goal is simple: help new neighbors find their footing and thrive in the community we all share. Five initiatives carry that work.
- Gosheni ("the healing place"). Farming, healing, and fresh food at our farm in Southwest Louisville.
- Himbaza ("to praise" in Kinyarwanda). Worship and discipleship that makes room for children in the life of the church.
- Humura ("to comfort" in Kinyarwanda). Support for women and single mothers.
- Tabara ("to rescue" in Kinyarwanda). Mentorship and protection for young women and girls.
- Integrating New Neighbors (INN). The home for everyday support: interpretation, the clothes closet, driver's education, the path to citizenship, education, skills, and Christian counseling.
Rwanda
Our work in Rwanda
In the rural communities of Rwanda, we walk alongside families and individuals through care, opportunity, and education. That includes children, the elderly, widows, and families living with HIV/AIDS. The work falls into four focus areas.
- Christian Counseling and Pastoral Care. Counseling and pastoral care for trauma and PTSD, plus a yearlong program that trains 20 lay counselors every year.
- Economic Empowerment. Microloans, sustainable farming, and a sewing school that help families build their own livelihoods.
- Children's Tuition and Health Insurance. Full tuition, uniforms, and supplies so children from families in poverty can finish school, with health insurance for them and their families.
- Community Seminars. Training for village leaders in good governance, conflict resolution, and public health, alongside marriage and parenting workshops.
Be part of the welcome
When new neighbors are encouraged, equipped, and educated, whole communities grow stronger. There's a place for you in that, through prayer, partnership, or a gift.
100 Hearts of Hope is our campaign to stand with families and individuals this year.
